
Think Survivor, Wipeout, Fear Factor, Amazing Race and you’ll have an idea of our Scout Island Adventure Race. The course is redesigned from the ground up each year and kept secret. Neither teams nor coaches are allowed to see the maps and instructions until the day of the race. There is no way to practice for this event but physical fitness, team work, communication, problem-solving and risk taking are the basic ingredients.

This race is limited to 40 teams of 4 grown-ups each, who are up for:
- navigating our 2-3 mile course in and around the San Joaquin River;
- solving 10 different challenges; and
- crossing the finish line in time to place either 1st, 2nd or 3rd (or just crossing).
Your 4-person team’s $100 entry fee (or $25 each person) gets:
- each team member an official race t-shirt;
- a great lunch;
- a lot of great memories; and
- helps fund the high school Scout Island Adventure Challenge Race. Thank you!

Geared to challenge the minds and skills of high school students, it’s one of the only race events like it in the nation. It’s free to compete, includes a healthy lunch, official race shirt, 1st-3rd place trophies and happens the third Saturday every October.
50 teams of 4, 2 high school males and 2 high school females compete in a 2-3 mile race in and around the San Joaquin River. The course is redesigned from the ground up each year and kept secret.
